Turbulence Commissions Open Call

New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. (NRPA) is now accepting proposals for its Turbulence.org Commissions Program. The deadline is June 30, 2011. Find the Application Guidelines here: http://turbulence.org/guidelines.html.

Turbulence.org is the oldest and most consistent net art commissions site in the world. Now celebrating 15 years, it has commissioned, exhibited and archived over 200 works.

NRPA is also in the process of archiving the collection at the Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. You can read about the project in “Virtueel Platform Research: Archiving the Digital” by Annet Dekker and Rachel Somers-Miles
(http://issuu.com/virtueelplatform/docs/vpresearch_archivingthedigital).

We are also thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts for 2011/2012: one to support new Turbulence.org commissions; the other to support the archiving of Turbulence.org at the Rose Goldsen Archive.
