As part of this grant I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the Netherlands last September where I engaged in a research period with artist Katrin Korfmann ( in the city of Dordrecht at the Center through a residency at the Center for Visual Arts Dordrecht (

On the invitation of the Netherlands America Foundation ( I will be speaking about my work with performance and the city and what this cultural and artistic exchange meant for my practice here in Los Angeles.  I am honored to be sharing the evening with a close colleague, friend and urban designer, Deborah Murphy who will follow my presentation with a discussion of her work with Figueroa Corridor Streetscape Project”

The NAF-BIZ Southern California is proud to present an evening of Art, Performance and the Re-Development of the City How Cities Perform through Art Practices and Design

Two keynote speakers will provide insight from a perspective of the artist, collaborating across disciplines as well as from the perspective of the urban planner on one of the latest projects in downtown Los Angeles.
