LA-based trio WIFE, created by artists Jasmine Albuquerque, Kristen Leahy, and Nina McNeely perform their multi-media piece God Daughter. In three parts—using original choreography, projected images, and music—God Daughter tells a story of female relationships, of metamorphosis, and of the transcendence of the human form. Influenced by Chris Cunningham, Jim Henson, and Kathy Rose, the members of WIFE work together to create a singular feminine persona that is beautiful, bold, and at times very dark. WIFE’s inspiration is derived from myth, folklore, archetypes, and the subtleties of everyday human behavior.
