Dreamscape is a hip hop theater play – defined as theater employing founding elements of hip hop culture: rapping, DJing, breakdancing/ hip hop dance, graffiti and knowledge as the primary language of the stage. Dreamscape uses: hip hop dance, poetry/ rap and beatboxing (the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one’s mouth, lips, tongue, and voice) in telling the story of a young African American woman, Myeisha Mills (real name: Tyisha Miller) shot to death by four Riverside police officers in 1998.
