Miloš Karadaglić, guitar
“He punched through the trio of ballads (El Decameron Negro) with an innate poise and elegance that made you sit up and listen…And then the firecracker: a superbly inflected, impeccably judged rendition Ginastera’ Sonata: a giant tapestry of sound combining luminous melancholy and bravura energy.”
The Times
The world of contemporary classical guitar has discovered something new under the sun. Introducing Miloš Karadaglić (Mee-lohsh Kah-rah-dag-lich) the young Montenegrin and multiple prize winner who has established himself as one of today’s most gifted guitar virtuosos. Growing up during the Balkan civil war, Karadaglić began playing at the age of 8 and very quickly won national recognition for his performances. At 16 he was awarded a scholarship to study at London’s Royal Academy of Music and was subsequently made a Meaker Junior Fellow – the first guitarist to be given this accolade. Now an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon recording artist, Karadaglić’s debut album Mediterraneo, topped the UK’s charts at #1 and celebrates the classical guitar’s Mediterranean heritage with works by Granados, Albéniz, Tárrega, and Theodorakis.
