“A chamber music experience in orchestral form.” – Yo-Yo Ma

Renowned pipa virtuoso Wu Man returns with progressive New York classical ensemble The Knights for a stirring evening of elegant classical and contemporary chamber orchestra works. A leading ambassador of Chinese music, Grammy-nominated Wu Man fosters projects that give the ancient pipa (a lute-like instrument) a new role in today’s music world. She’ll join The Knights, a “talented and vivacious” (The New York Times) ensemble of adventurous musicians from the New York music scene, who cultivate collaborative music making.

Stravinsky: Concerto in E-flat (“Dumbarton Oaks”)
Lou Harrison: Concerto for Pipa with String Orchestra
Debussy: Prélude à “L’Après-midi d’un faune”
Milhaud: Le Boeuf sur le toit, op. 58 (The Ox on the Roof )
