Harris Kornstein: Bus Stop Wifi Documentary
Harris Kornstein (UC Santa Cruz): $2,500 for Bus Stop Wifi Documentary
Bus Stop Wifi is a site-specific artistic intervention at private shuttle stops in San Francisco that explores the ways that digital technologies affect not only interpersonal communications, but also social and economic relations in urban environments. The piece uses experimental documentary and modified wireless routers to engage tech sector employees and the public alike around questions of gentrification, uses of public space and services, and the virtualization of the physical world.
