‘Gunfight at the O.K. Corral’ (1957) Directed by John Sturges. Director John Sturges’ classic Vistavision take on the legendary gunfight in Tombstone, AZ was the second big screen pairing for Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas and it solidified the chemistry the two would share in films to come. As the stolid Wyatt Earp, Lancaster emanates a quiet power matched by the wilder, chaotic energies of Douglas’ Doc Holliday. A fantastic supporting cast, including Rhonda Fleming, Jo Van Vleet and a young Dennis Hopper round out the action. Paramount Pictures Corp.
