UCIRA offers planning and implementation grants for projects relating to any of our three current areas of interest:
Art+California: California-centric embedded arts research
Art+Exchange: new models of value exchange
Art+Science: integrative methodologies

Open Classroom Challenge

Every year UCIRA poses a systemwide 5K challenge: What could you (and your students) do with $5,000? Up to four grants are awarded each year to facilitate projects that engage creatively with real world issues in the classroom and expand and transform the teaching/learning environment.

Undergraduate Action Research Grants

The University of California Institute for Research in the Arts (UCIRA) is pleased to announce a new funding program dedicated to supporting undergraduate student-led initiatives in the arts. The undergraduate Action Research grants are aimed at supporting arts and cultural projects with the capacity to have a significant impact on campus/community life. Projects may include, but are not limited to: exhibitions, performances, concerts, guest-artist visits, site-specific art, workshops, festivals and publications that foster innovation and campus engagement through the arts.
