Funk Zone Charrette Project Planning session for community members, designers, and others to collaborate on a vision for the future look of downtown Santa Barbara’s funky neighborhood.

When: Friday, July 27, 6 p.m.

Where: Municipal Winemakers, 22 Anacapa St., Santa Barbara

Cost: Free

Age limit: All ages

Categories: Citizen’s Alert

Description:

A charrette provides a forum for ideas and offers the unique advantage of giving immediate feedback to the designers. More importantly, it allows everyone who participates to be a mutual author of the plan.

The Funk Zone Charrette Project is an open invitation to local artists, architects, designers and creative professionals to participate in creating charrettes envisioning the future look of the Funk Zone. The purpose of the project is to engage the community to envision what our Funky neighborhood may look like as Santa Barbara’s arts district.

Teams will be formed from this meeting, and The Arts Fund along with key Charrette Organizers will create a timeline for all interested designers to submit their drawings, photographs, and mixed media charrettes for the FUNK ZONE CHARRETTE EXHIBITION at the Arts Fund Gallery September 28 – October 20, 2012.

For more information and to participate, please contact Catherine Gee (info@artsfundsb.org). The Funk Zone Charrette Project is made possible by the generosity of Santa Barbara Foundation.
