Meghan Hynson: Facilitating Interdisciplinary Learning with World Music

Meghan Hynson (Los Angeles / Ethnomusicology) Graduate Student

This course will research and develop world music curriculum as a means to facilitate interdisciplinary learning. Participants in the course will perform “research in action” by implementing curricular ideas at a diverse local middle ¬†school in need of a music program. The course will culminate in the creation of a world music curriculum and portfolio that UCLA students can utilize in their futures. Most importantly this course will have a profound effect on the middle school students that participate in the program.
