Artist Call- The HeART of North Beach

For Western States artists

An Art Exhibition to Benefit North Beach Citizens.

North Beach Citizens’ Creative Events Committee is pleased to announce The HeArt of North Beach, an art exhibition taking place from Thursday, February 14, 2013 through Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Live Worms Gallery, located at 1345 Grant Avenue in North Beach. The exhibition benefits North Beach Citizens, a non-profit organization that utilizes the talents of the North Beach community to innovatively address the needs of its homeless and low-income citizens in an atmosphere of trust, integrity, and respect.

All media are eligible for admission including, but not limited to; photography, collage, painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, stenciling, carving, poetry, printmaking, video and digital media.

Artists are asked to depict the “heart” of North Beach through their artwork. The opening reception on Valentine’s Day is a celebration of the things we love about North Beach; from the people, places, memories, impressions, history, and activist nature of the community There is no submission fee. Amandalynn, Elizabeth Ashcroft, Genea Barnes, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Jack Hirschman, MOMO, and Winston Smith

Artists deliver artwork to Live Worms Gallery, 1345 Grant Avenue

February 14

Opening Reception 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

February 16:

Closing Reception 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

February 17: 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

Artists pick up unsold artwork from Live Worms Gallery, 1345 Grant Avenue at Vallejo/Union Street.

Submission Guidelines

The maximum size of each piece is 18″ x 24″.ยท
All work must be ready to hang and have a wire or rings on the back. Work without hanging hardware cannot be accepted.
Sculptors will need to provide a pedestal for their work.
A completed application form must accompany each submission.
Attach a label to the back of each piece with: the artist name, title of the work, contact information and price.
The artist may retain 30% of the sale price or donate 100% of the proceeds to benefit North Beach Citizens.
The artist allows North Beach Citizens to use images of the artist and the work for marketing, publicity, and other similar purposes.
The artist is responsible for insuring his/her work and holds harmless North Beach Citizens, their directors, representatives, volunteers and Live Worms for any loss or damage to the work.
No more than two submissions per artist.
North Beach Citizens reserves the right to curate the show as deemed appropriate.
