Artist Call – The Cypress Village Art Walk 2014

The Cypress Village Art Walk is an event that will take place on a single evening in July 2014. Artists will show their work in an underground tunnel and the surrounding above ground sidewalks in the Cypress Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The event, curated by Sarah Barnard, calls for artists of any medium to explore the theme of Home. What does it mean to be home or to be homeless? Is home just a feeling or is it an actual place? Artists are welcome to broadly interpret the many associations and relationships to this word.

The primary sponsors of the event are Antigua Coffee House and Fine Art Solutions. Artists in this event will retain 100% of any sales they make of their work.

Artists must submit proposals for consideration, and accepted artists will be granted free participation to the event. The deadline for submissions is January 1st, 2014, and selected artists will be notified by January 20th, 2014. There will be a mandatory meeting for selected artists on Saturday, May 24th from 12PM-2PM.

This event celebrates the convergence of many differing cultural perspectives and the variety of life that inhabits the city of Los Angeles.
