Artist Call- Painted Violin Project 2013

For California artists Turn an unplayable instrument into a work of art to benefit the Youth Orchestras of Fresno. We supply the unplayable instrument, you supply the art.

Artists are invited to submit applications (multiple submissions are OK) until Sunday December 2, 2012. The deadline for online submissions is 12:00 midnight PST. Snailmail submissions must be postmarked by December 2, 2012.

You simply draw your fabulous drawings–front and back–in living color, then send in the completed images, either via snailmail (444 West Shaw, Fresno, 93704) or, as scanned images, via email (office@youthorchestrasfresno.org).

Easiest is to use the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM, which allows you to upload designs.

Ten artists will be chosen to produce painted violins to be displayed during the months of March, April, and May, then auctioned off on May 22, 2013.

Painted Violin Project 2013 Timeline

  • December 2, 2012: applications due
  • December 16, 2012: finalists announced  March 1, 2013: finished violins due
  • May 22, 2013: Painted Violin Auction
