Oakland Super Heroes Mural Project

Position: Lead Artist

Attitudinal Healing Connection (AHC), a non-profit organization in West Oakland is looking for a local artist to paint the Hoover Corridor Neighborhood’s second mural project. The Oakland Super Heroes Mural Project is a series of six large scale murals to be painted underneath 580 in the Hoover Corridor of West Oakland. The first mural was completed last year and AHC is searching for a local muralist to lead the second mural project in November. The lead artist will work with local youth to design and paint the mural along with a team of artist assistants. These murals serve as a gateway to West and Downtown Oakland and are integral to how our community is perceived. This is a call for local artists interested in community based public art projects that contribute to revitalizing the Hoover District in West Oakland.

Qualifications:

Must have previous mural painting experience
Be over 18 years of age and based in Oakland, CA
MUST CARE! Be passionate about social justice & want to create positive change

Compensation:

$6000 ($5000 for mural & $1000 for design)
