Artist Call: Food Shift

Deadline: 07-29-2012

For SF Bay Area artists

Interface Gallery is planning this exhibition with Food Shift, an Earth Island Institute sponsored project working in the Bay Area to build a more just and sustainable food system that curbs waste, empowers communities, and respects the environment, by increasing awareness about food waste and inspiring food related behavior change. Accepted work will approach themes intersecting with Food Shift’s mission from a diverse range of perspectives, including critiquing existing systems, examining environmental and human impacts of food waste/production, and proposing alternatives.

Artists are invited to submit work in any medium for display in the gallery setting and to propose auxiliary events that intersect with the theme of the exhibition. This can include anything from talks and film screenings to happenings that employ the tactics of art as social practice.

If interested in participating, please write to Interface Gallery with images of works for consideration or websites where current work may be viewed.

Must be able to deliver and pick up work.
