Artist Call- Dreams, Hopes and Inspirations

In observance of the 40th anniversary of Roe vs Wade, the Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art (NCWCA) announces a national call for Choice, a juried exhibition of art in support of women’s reproductive rights in the United States. What does choice mean to you? What choices are you making or have made with your reproductive life? How has choice or the lack thereof affected your life and the lives around you? Does the word choice draw you into the broader context of changes in women’s reproductive rights during your lifetime? Does the word choice bring to mind the differences in reproductive rights depending on what part of the country and state you live in?

We are seeking artwork in a broad range of media and genre that give voice to women’s reproductive rights. Women artists are invited to submit 2D and 3D artwork around the theme Choice. Creative interpretations are encouraged. Works may be abstract, representational or incorporate language with visual representation. Artwork may include personal or collective experiences of women past and present or perspectives about the future. Only original art will be accepted.

CATEGORIES ACCEPTED
Sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, ceramics, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book, video and installation. This exhibition cannot accept jewelry, film, performance art, and works requiring an external electrical source.
