Anastasia Yumeko Hill: The Coyote Project

Anastasia Yumeko Hill (UC Santa Barbara): $5,000 for Strangers in a Strange Land: The Coyote Project. Graduate Arts Grant

This collaborative project explores the phenomenological, poetic, and political tensions of being in and out of place through a series of site-specific video and performance works premised on differences between the two artists’ backgrounds. The project will be created and exhibited en route from the border of Mexico to Davis, CA., stopping near each UC campus to put on a screening event inside a moving truck, which will also serve as the mode of transportation and means of production.
